Southeast Regional Diamondback Terrapin Workshop

This 2nd annual collaborative regional workshop will highlight the status of diamondback terrapin research, management and education in the Southeast. The meeting will serve to update attendees on the recent accomplishments and specific needs of the region, as well as continue to facilitate networking within and between states in the Southeast.
Presentations topics include:
- Population and physiology research;
- Crab trap clean-up and BRD education programs;
- Outreach efforts to reduce terrapin road mortality; and
- Gaps in policies for protection.
Break-out discussions which will follow priority topics identified at previous workshops and will be outcome oriented. In addition, interested participants can participate in the poster display with their research, education or conservation projects.

Pre-Workshop Event: The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher has arranged for meeting participants to get a behind the scenes tour at 3pm on Wednesday, December 2. The cost for this event is $13.80 and includes a reduced entry fee into the aquarium. The tour is limited to 30 people. Once registered for the workshop, a follow email will be sent regarding this aquarium tour.
